Yam kuih by Thermomix

Making Grandma Steamed Yam Kuih (Gluten Free) for CFCB Youth Group Meeting High Tea. #LoveMyThermomix Grandma Steamed Yam Cake You will need a steel rectangle Baking Tin of 5” x 8” x 2” or Round 8” diameter stainless steel tray Ingredients 300g to 400g Yam(Taro) cubed 120g Rice Flour 30g Tapioca Flour 500g Filtered Water 30g dried Prawns, rinsed 10g Chinese Mushroom, cleaned n soaked. 20g Shallot, peeled 10g Garlic, peeled 50g Olive Oil Or Cooking Oil 1/2 tsp Ground pepper 1/2 tsp Sea Salt 10g Fish Sauce 1200g of water for steaming Topping 2 sprig of Spring Onions, chopped 30g of chopped Salted radish, pan fried 1 fresh red Chillis, chopped Method 1. Place cubed Yam to chop n set aside. 5 Sec Speed 6 2. Place dried prawns, soaked mushroom, shallots, garlic to chop. 5 Sec Speed 5 3. scrape down all sides of TM bowl n weigh in oil to sauté. 3 mins / 120 C / Speed 1. 4. Add in chopped yam to sauté. 6 mins / 120 C / Reverse/ Speed 1 5. Add rice flour, Tapioca flour, salt, pepper, fish sauce n water to mix. 5 Sec / Reverse/ Speed 3. 6. Cook mixture. 6 mins / 120 C / Speed 1. 7. Transfer cooked mixture to greased tray, flatten and smooth with back of oiled spoon. Place tray onto Varoma Dish, covered and ready to steam. 8. Rinse TM bowl n weigh water into TM bowl to steam. 35 mins / Varoma / Speed 2. 9. Allow steamed Kuih to cool n transfer to serving plate, garnish with salted radish, Chillis n Spring Onion to serve.
