Forgiveness

I FORGIVE THEM, BUT I DON’T TRUST THEM ANYMORE. 🥺 “Am I wrong before God?” I forgive them—not because what they did was okay, but because I refuse to carry hatred and bitterness in my heart. But I also don’t trust them the way I used to. Does that make me a bad Christian? Does forgiveness mean I have to forget everything? Does forgiving someone mean I must give them the same access to my life again? No. Forgiveness and trust are not the same thing. Forgiveness is choosing to release the hurt and leave vengeance in God’s hands. Trust, however, is something that can take time to rebuild. Sometimes people change. Sometimes they don’t. And sometimes the wisest thing you can do is forgive someone while keeping a healthy distance. I can forgive you without pretending you never hurt me. I can pray for you without allowing you to hurt me again. I can wish you well without giving you the same place in my life. I can let go of the anger without ignoring the lesson. But Lord, search my heart. If my distance comes from wisdom, give me peace. If it comes from bitterness, heal me. If I am holding onto anger, teach me to release it. If I need boundaries, give me courage to establish them without hatred. Because at the end of everything, the most important question is not whether they deserve my trust again. It is: “Am I wrong before God?” Lord, I don't want revenge. I don't want hatred. I don't want bitterness to become part of me. I just want a heart that is right before You. I forgive them. I surrender the pain to You. And I trust You to handle what I cannot. Forgiveness doesn't erase the lesson. Forgiveness doesn't automatically restore trust. Forgiveness simply means I choose not to let their actions control my heart anymore. 🤍🙏 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32 #AmIWrongBeforeGod #I ForgiveThem #Forgiveness #TrustGod #ChristianMotivation #GodHeals #Faith #LetGodHandleIt
